In order to obtain innovative and differentiated ingredients, Natac has a Research and Development Unit that, in addition to having great expertise in developing functional ingredients based on solid, scientific evidence, works with the most innovative technologies and techniques. This enables us to make a series of services available to our customers, from the development of analytical methods for both ingredients and the final product, all the way to stability studies or industrial scale-up.

Many of the ingredients we have developed have their own evidence of efficacy that attest to their healthy properties. In addition, at Natac, we are able to help you compile the necessary scientific documentation to back up health claims.

In addition, as part of the services we offer, we outsource clinical trials to renowned entities that validate some critical processes. Accordingly, we have permanent collaboration agreements with internationally renowned institutions, such as the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC, for its acronym in Spanish), the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the Madrid Institute for Advanced Food Research (IMDEA, for its acronym in Spanish), the Ramón y Cajal Hospital, the Hospital del Mar (Barcelona), and many others.

Our Quality Department guarantees the botanical authenticity and maintains the traceability of our extracts through our vertical integration model. This is what enables us to control the farming, production, marketing, and commercial distribution of our products.

In addition, at Natac we have implemented a system of raw materials risk analysis known as HABOID (Hazard Analysis Botanical Identity), which determines each plant’s level of risk, according to where it comes from, and guarantees that it meets the strictest quality standards required.

We manufacture according to GMP requirements, under the most relevant food quality standard. We hold the FSSC 22000 food safety and FAMI-QS animal feed quality and safety certifications.

At Natac, we are firm believers in the benefits of Open Innovation. Consequently, we collaborate on several projects with the most prestigious international scientific and academic institutes, as well as entities that are experts in different areas so as to have the most innovative technologies, cutting-edge knowledge, and everything we need to move forward and accelerate the development of new products so our customers can lead in their respective markets.

The cross-sectional thematic line of all our projects is the research and development of new and innovative ingredients obtained from plants of Mediterranean origin, with special dedication to the olive, grape/grapevine, citrus, saffron, pomegranate, and artichoke.
